I worked up a quick style sheet for print media (fancy way of saying printing), for this blog. Browser support for published standards of print style sheets is lacking at the moment, but most browsers support the “display:none” property. With this control, I can make certain elements of the page disappear.
When these pages are printed on nice browsers the masthead and nav/category menu on the right hand side of the page do not show up.
On the new WordPress CMS pages, WERC first, this will be fine tuned. There are products out there that will add headers and footers and adjust for page sizes. There is a lot that can be done, It would be nice if the browsers would catch up with the standards.
